The Gambia: a perfect introduction to West African birds

Temminck’s Courser

Date: 6 November - 14 November 2027 (9 days)

Maximum group size: 6 participants

Price: 2760.- CHF

Experience the incredible birdlife of The Gambia on a unique bird photography adventure in one of West Africa’s most accessible and rewarding birding destinations. This small country offers an amazing diversity of species in a compact area, from rich riverside forests and tropical wetlands to open savannahs.

We will explore the best sites along the Gambia River. Quiet boat rides, early morning walks, and carefully placed photographic hides allow you to capture stunning portraits of West African specialties

Highlight species may include Egyptian Plover, Standar-winged Nightjar, Red-throated Bee-eater (we will visit a colony), Violet Turaco, Brown-throated Wattle-eye, Temminck’s Courser, African Finfoot, Northern White-faced Owl, Yellow-crowned Gonolek, several Kingfishers and so many more!
